The French national sea rescue society S.N.S.M is a charity whose main mission is to save lives in danger at sea and around the coast. It does this free of charge.
Ever since 2018, Grand Port Maritime De La Réunion has made donations to help with operating costs, in recognition of the charity’s life-saving work. A new three-year partnership agreement (2021-2023) was signed on 5 March 2021 at Port Ouest between François Bacque, SNSM Delegate for the Département of Reunion Island and Eric Legrigeois, Chair of the Executive Board.
