Our commitments

Being a “Sustainable Port” is a key priority of the 2019-2023 Strategic Plan, and Grand Port Maritime de La Réunion endeavours to position itself as a strategic player and driving force for sustainable development in the Indian Ocean.

Since 2014 the adoption of an environmental management system and structured monitoring (through the Sustainable Development and Management Plan, PA2D), a Natural Heritage Master Plan (NHMP), and environmental monitoring of terrestrial and marine environments during development projects have paved the way for Port Reunion to establish clear-cut actions in favour of natural and technological risk management, industrial ecology, environmental protection in a context of global warming, and the need to conserve biodiversity.
